"Experience the sounds of yesterday, with today's accordion musician."
Equipment: Domenic plays a Sonola “Rivoli Special” Accordion retrofitted with the Limex MIDI II (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) System. He also uses another “Rivoli Special” and a Titano Grand accordion for strolling. With the break through and popularity of electronic MIDI in the accordion industry, he has been able to expand his sounds with the Solton MS40 sound module, as well as the Yahama PSR540 Keyboard, both capable of bringing superlative sounds to live performances, making his solo performance comparable to one of a 5-15 piece orchestra.
Domenic Livoli was born in Providence, RI and first started to play the accordion at the age of six years old. He studied under the direction of Edward Saccoccia of the EDSAC Accordion Studio for 11 years and competed in many state and national competitions. During his studies, he won many state age category ATARI (Accordion Teachers’ Association of Rhode Island) championships, fifth in a national age jazz solo, as well as placing first in a national band ensemble competition.
As one of the lead accordionists in the EDSAC Accordion Orchestra, Domenic Livoli played in the “Hat Band”, where they performed a compilation of Italian, Dixieland, Show Tunes and TV Theme favorites, playing at area malls and Italian Festivals in Providence and Cranston, RI. Every time the music changed, they switched from Italian caps to straw hats to top hats.
After graduating high school in 1987, he pursued a college education and advanced studies in the construction industry, and still maintains his passion for the accordion. At the present time, Mr. Livoli provides entertainment in many categories, with emphasis on Italian music as strolling or with the advanced MIDI accordion/keyboard setup.
